How We Build & Verify Our Calculators
Trust matters most in money tools, so here's exactly how ReckonMoney works.
- Formulas: each calculator uses standard, published financial formulas (amortization for loans, future-value for investing, the 50/30/20 rule for budgeting, and so on). The specific method is shown in the "How this is calculated" section on each tool.
- Testing: every calculator is checked against known worked examples before it goes live, and re-checked when updated.
- Sources: where rules or rates apply (tax brackets, contribution limits, standard ratios), we reference official/public sources and note the year.
- Updates: tools and articles show a "last updated" date; we revise them as rates and rules change.
- Corrections: spot something off? Email {{EMAIL}} — corrections are a priority.
